One of the most vocal critics of the TikTok is a Republican Senator Josh Hawley from Missouri. In March he proposed to forbid all civil servants to use TikTok on their work phones, claiming that the company is sharing with the Chinese government.

“do we Really want Beijing had geographic location information of all Federal employees? Do we really want them to get the information by simply pressing keys?”, said Hawley, when he announced the introduction of the bill in the Senate.

TikTok belongs to the Chinese concern ByteDance. With this application you can create short videos. Last year the company said that about 60% of the 26.5 million of its active users in the U.S. are young people aged 16 to 24 years.

In early July, the President of the United States Donald trump announced that the White house is considering banning TikTok and other Chinese games in the US. Several U.S. agencies involved in national security and intelligence, has forbidden employees to use TikTok.

Recently, the US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said that the Americans should be careful when using this app. TikTok previously responded to a request by Reuters that never send user data to China.
