China is ready to join trilateral talks on disarmament with the USA and Russia in case the United States will reduce its nuclear Arsenal to China’s level. This was announced on Wednesday by the Director of the Department of arms control of Chinese foreign Ministry Fu Tsun.
“the United States, we still have not said what they want from our participation in the talks,” he said. Among the possible actions to participate in the negotiations, the representative of the diplomatic Department said that the increase in China’s nuclear potential up to the level of the US or the US is ready to reduce its Arsenal to the level of the PRC. In the second case, China stands ready to join the negotiations “the next day”.
Recall that Washington insists that China joined in tripartite negotiations with Russia on strategic nuclear weapons. This was announced by the U.S. representative to the Conference on disarmament Robert wood. He said that the secrecy with which Beijing is increasing its nuclear stockpile, represents “a serious threat to strategic stability”.
Russia and the United States signed the Treaty on reduction of strategic offensive arms (the start Treaty, the non – name- start-3) in 2010.
