Kaliningrad Museum gave a historical lighthouse of the XIX century

One of the three preserved in the Kaliningrad region lighthouses built before the war transferred to the Museum of the World ocean.

the decision was made by the Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation. This was reported by General Director of the Museum Svetlana Sivkova. Now, she said, have enormous work to do to restore this historical site.

the lighthouse in the village of Zalivino (pre-war name – Rinderart) appeared on the southern shore of the Curonian lagoon in 1868. Then it was a 12-foot wooden rod with a kerosene lamp and the lens.

the Current brick lighthouse tower with stone spiral staircase, with a height of over 15 meters, was built in 1908. Then the complex was added to the caretaker’s house. Red and white fire was visible in the Bay at a distance of 7 and 12 miles respectively.

the lighthouse is no longer valid and abandoned, the buildings began to crumble. Now, as reported in the press service of the Museum, at the entrance to the lighthouse there was a sign: “the Object is in Federal ownership FGBUK “Museum of the World ocean” and protected by the state”.

the Museum held a clean-up of the unique building. To recover it will be phased plans for reconstruction and the concept of an object under discussion.
