Nearly 145 thousand citizens of Russia took part in the vote on the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation at the polling stations organized abroad. This was stated on Thursday by the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
"In the conditions of serious restrictions being made in different countries of the world measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infections in the vote was attended by 144 791 voters. In agreement with the territorial election Commission held 42 away and early voting in the places of compact residence of Russians. In them took part more than 33 thousand people, including employees of companies that conduct large-scale construction abroad, and military personnel of the Russian military bases," she said.
Zakharova pointed out that today the Russian foreign Ministry has completed the reception of copies of the protocols from all polling stations, which were established abroad.
"All in 140 countries worldwide was created 254 polling stations. Election Commission was headed by including 39 ambassadors and permanent representatives, 63 Consul-General. This indicates the importance and relevance of the tasks for our diplomatic missions. Indeed, the Ministry of foreign Affairs have given this subject special attention",- said the diplomat.
