The Central election Commission reported that 90% of protocols of voting on amendments to the Constitution have already been processed. Changes spoke 77,93% of Russians against — of 21.27%, follows from the latest data of the CEC.
The Russians were able to vote during the week from 25 June to 1 July. However, in Moscow and in Nizhny Novgorod region residents could vote remotely, using e-newsletters. Final data on the voting results, the CEC plans to publish 2nd of July. In order for the amendment to enter into force, they must maintain more than 50% of voters.
Citizens were asked to answer one question: “do You approve the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation?”. The party could put on the ballot marked “for” or “against”.
In Moscow on the results of processing 60.1% of protocols of voting in person the amendment was supported by 65.2% of voters opposed to 33.8%. In St. Petersburg has already tallied more than 21% of the ballots — according to reports, the level of support of amendments to the Northern capital exceeds 80%.

Commenting on the preliminary voting results, the CEC head Ella Pamfilova thanked all the staff of the electoral system of Russia, journalists, social observers, law enforcement officers and citizens for their participation in the vote.

Before the main stage of the nationwide vote, the citizens appealed to President Vladimir Putin. He urged Russians to take part in voting on amendments to the Constitution, stressing the importance of each vote.
The head of state pointed out that it is not just about voting on the amendments vested in law.
“We are voting for the country where you want to live: with a modern education and health care, with a reliable social protection of citizens, efficient government, accountable to the public. We are voting for the country we work for and who want to pass on to our children and grandchildren”, — said the President.
