The cost of manufacturing of the carrier rocket heavy class "Angara-A5" is seven billion rubles, which is three times more than the rocket "proton-M", which she will have to replace, should the financial report of the Khrunichev Centre for 2019.
"In the scope of consolidation "internal reserve" organization (Khrunichev Centre – ed.) with the assistance of the state Corporation "Roskosmos" implementation of the following measures: … the implementation of complex of measures aimed at reducing the cost of the launch vehicle (LV) "Angara", including those aimed at creating the closed production cycle the PH of the family "Hangar" at the facilities of the Production Association "Flight" – branch organizations, the city of Omsk", – the report says.
As noted in the document, implementation of measures will allow to reduce the cost "Angara" by 2024, up to four billion rubles.
For comparison, the cost of manufacturing rocket "proton-M" to launch telecommunication satellite "Express АМУ4" according to the website of public procurement is of 2.33 billion rubles contract signed in April 2020.
Thus, by 2024, when "Angara" will be produced commercially, its cost will remain one and a half times what the "Proton-M".
Flight tests of rocket "Angara-A5" at the Plesetsk cosmodrome began in 2014. They include six launches were so far only one. The second launch is scheduled for fall 2020.
Serial production of missiles in Omsk is planned to be deployed in 2023. Rocket "Angara-A5" will replace "proton-M", which starts with the leased Kazakhstan Baikonur cosmodrome and is scheduled for decommissioning in 2025.
