The fifth floor of a building in urban space “Bakery” filled with light. The sun rays run across the canvases of Hieronymus Bosch, slightly softening the impact of their hypnotic, sinister forces.

The painting “the Prodigal son” long are two young girls, in a low voice exchanging impressions.

— Breughel and Bosch I really like — says one of them, Galina Fedjunina. — ‘ve been fond of arts masters of this era, and symbolism. Trying to learn how to read patterns. Nice to see such rare works, even reproductions, as opposed to on the computer screen.

That before us not the original, is simple: the artists have created for my life a bit of work. The brush of Hieronymus Bosch owns about 25 paintings of Pieter Bruegel the Elder — about 45 Their creations scattered throughout the world’s museums and private collections. Even in the Museum of the Flemish school on his native Hertogenbosch, not the originals.

— Missed exhibitions in the period of self-isolation, — says Muscovite Pavel Kuranov, who came here with his girlfriend. — I think the roots of the stories that depict Bruegel and Bosch, you need to look into religion, the Christian commandments. No wonder they often emerges the theme of sin. In addition, it is difficult not to notice them, and a satire on human society, and a call to think about what we humans can and should change. Paintings of gloomy, but the era was so.

Next to each piece — a sign detailing the history of its creation and interpretation.

Affects the quality of the reproductions. As explained by the curators of the exhibition, paintings are made using the technique of giclee art digital printing. On the images you can see even the hairs of the brush of the artist, crackles that were on the original.

— the Names of other painters of the Northern Renaissance era has sunk into oblivion, and Bosch and Breughel still at the peak of relevance. Their work is full of symbols, hidden signs, and now a trend search for answers with the help of metaphorical images, says the exhibition’s curator Anna Pavelieva. These artists are more modern than many who worked just 50-100 years ago.

The exhibition will run until the end of July. According to the organizers, probably, it will be extended. It depends on the epidemiological situation. About the health of visitors are concerned: take no more than 30 people per hour are kindly requested to book a visit in advance, to wear masks and gloves.
