The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that he was impressed by the scale of the flooding in the West country.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at a meeting on Thursday allocated about $ 28 million for liquidation of consequences of floods in the Western part of the country, Zelensky arrived with a working trip in Ivano-Frankivsk region and will hold a meeting on liquidation of consequences of flooding.
"is Really amazing the scale of this tragedy, what we’ve seen from the height of the helicopter, and here you can see, when dealing with people. See that flooded the region, destroyed more than 8 thousand buildings… dumped about 10 thousand hectares of agricultural land, and it is their life and power supply, destroyed roads, dams, some old bridges," said Zelensky in the program "Right to rule"
He noted that already restored all the roads of the state value. "All the people struck by a large-scale work of all of our services, it’s true. I wanted to see it, to hear from people and do confirm this," the President said.
"I think that is completely normal life in the next few days will be restored" said Zelensky.
On Monday, the interior Ministry of Ukraine has introduced emergency security measures because of bad weather in Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi regions of the country. Heavy precipitation also affected the Lviv, Transcarpathian and Ternopil region. In the framework of the state service for emergency situations said that due to the bad weather, three people were killed and another was missing. The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine has asked the European Union and NATO to help in the aftermath of the flooding in the West country. The Prosecutor’s office of Ivano-Frankivsk region opened a criminal case on the fact of massive illegal deforestation, which could lead to a massive flood.
