In this sense, the project of turning the remains of the old outbuildings to the material for Souvenirs is the next stage of the restoration of the house of the artist. By the way, part of the ruins, which are not threatening to collapse, the restorers are going to save as a cultural landmark. On the other hand, according to local lore, it is important that Saratov will have the opportunity to participate in the reconstruction of the past in a literal sense with their hands. Construction waste will be transformed into “sacred particle” thanks to the citizens for which the artists gatherll conduct master classes.
– I Think this project is in some extent can be correlated with the ideas of conscious consumption, which are becoming increasingly popular in our society, – considers a press-the Secretary of regional branch “waste Management” Natalia Calamine. – It’s not just that a waste is a secondary resource. Any thing that came into disrepair, can be again put into circulation, it helps in particular to improve the situation with the environment. Last year we held “the Festival”, which presented works made by artists from degraded electronic circuit boards, scrap metal and other “art” materials. The exhibition enjoyed great popularity among residents of Saratov. •
