President Vladimir Putin, speaking about “territorial gift” of the Russian people, which should return, had in mind previously admitted a system error in the Constitution, said press Secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov.
Journalists asked Peskov clarified Putin’s words about the territorial gifts of the Russian people, which should be returned. These words were uttered in the context of amending the Constitution.
“He wasn’t talking about gifts, he spoke about the previously approved system errors in the Constitution, which did not provide for a range of situations, a number of scenarios that would have negative consequences for our state. This is what Putin said here, you need to carefully read it,” – said Peskov, RIA “Novosti”.
According to him, the President is in error, “which had previously been allowed, and very important points that were not thought of in the Constitution.”
When asked whether the President believes that the country remained a territory, which need to reunite with Russia, Peskov said: “No, the President didn’t say anything about whether or not he spoke specifically about the failures in previous Constitutions”.
Earlier the President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that the Soviet republics had right to secede from the Soviet Union, however, the exit procedure has not been spelled out in advance. The President drew attention to the situation in which the “(one or the other), the Republic became part of the Soviet Union, but got to your “baggage” huge number of Russian lands, traditional historical Russian territories”, and then decided to leave the Soviet Union.
“Well, at least then went with what came, and not dragged to a “gift” from the Russian people,” – said the Russian leader, adding that “nothing was written”.
Putin also indicated that Russia has paid the debts of all former Soviet republics, but has not received her proper foreign assets of the USSR.
