Moscow. June 10. INTERFAX.RU Moscow state University. M. V. Lomonosov, has moved up ten positions in the ranking of world universities QS World University Rankings 2021 and occupied 74-e a place, informs press service University.
“Starting in 2014, MSU has improved its performance on 46 points and never showed a negative trend. In the entire history not a single Russian University was not held such a high position in global ratings,” — noted in the press service.
MSU, the report said, rose in the ranking primarily because of its reputation in the global academic community. Also, the University strengthened the position by actively working to attract foreign students and teachers at 89 and 13 points, respectively.
in Total, the rating includes 28 Russian universities, 17 of them have improved their positions compared to last year.
As reported in press service Higher school of Economics (HSE), the HSE took 298 place, improving last year’s result by 24 positions. For the HSE, as for MSU, the main growth factor was the academic reputation.

When ranking were taken into account six criteria: reputation in the academic environment (40%), the ratio of teachers and students (20%), reputation among employers (10%), citation index (20%), the share of foreign lecturers (5%) and students (5%). Evaluations are obtained on the basis of the analysis of large amounts of data: the rating’s authors studied more than 13 million scientific publications, considered over 93 million citations, interviewed more than 240 thousand employers and 1.5 million members of the academic community.
