Local epidemiologist, Professor Maria Ganczak told TV channel TVN24: “After a sharp rise in the number of infections early in the epidemic we are in the beginning of April came to a plateau. Since that time we have from week to week was observed more or less permanent increase in the number of infections – from 300 to 400 cases a day.” According to her, this trend continued for nine consecutive weeks, against the background of other countries of Europe looks strange. “In most EU countries there has been slow but still a reduction in the number of cases”, – she explained.
But the Polish epidemiologists in recent days, sounding the alarm: with the end of last week they are a daily record of not less than five hundred cases. And this despite the fact that tests for coronavirus here, according to Professor Ganchuk, doing too little. In the ranking of the countries of Europe Poland is on the 28th place out of 42 with the indicator 28 300 tests per million inhabitants.
