“Changes will have a positive impact on the industry, as the Federal Agency for tourism will directly generate normative legal acts through the government. More efficiently and expeditiously to take measures for the development of tourism, first of all, to fulfill the President’s instructions which he gave for the development of domestic tourism,” – said in an interview with “RG” the Vice-President of the Russian Union of travel industry Yuri Barzykin.
He also noted that a lot of work in order to fill these functions with real content as training programs, normative legal acts requires appropriate resources and staffing. We need prompt action to restore industry, which is in deep crisis, and therefore needs to be a completely different mode of operation, said Barzykin.

Also, the Federal Tourism Agency was given the responsibility for the development and implementation of state policy in the sphere of tourism and tourist activities, legal regulation of the industry. In addition, the Federal tourism Agency assigned a function for the coordination of implementation of priority directions of state regulation of tourist activity in Russia and the state supervision over the activities of tour operators and Association of tour operators in outbound tourism. Previously, this function belonged to the Ministry of economic development, which is subordinate to the Federal tourism Agency.
