Official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia Svetlana Petrenko said about the beginning of criminal proceedings due untimely informing about the emergency situation in connection with the oil spill in Norilsk. The case was initiated under part 1 of article 293 of the criminal code (“Negligence”).
the Accident at TPP-3 occurred on may 29, due depressurization of the tank with diesel fuel. As a result 17 tons of diesel fuel spilled on the road to HPP-3, which provides the Norilsk and the surrounding cities with electricity, heat and water. The oil has penetrated into the soil and into the river Barn, lake and river Pacino flowing into the Kara sea. There were no injuries.
