Near Krasnodar on the M4 don in preparation for the construction of roads Far Western bypass, scientists discovered the burial of a Sarmatian warrior. This was told in the press service of “Avtodor”.
According to archaeologists, the burial belongs to the era of the iron age, that is, the beginning of a new era. The remains in the grave belongs to a man 40 years. And most likely, the warrior occupied a privileged position in the community, as close to them, scientists found many animal remains, iron arrowheads, javelins, fragments of a quiver, decorated with a bronze lining. Among the well-preserved finds – fragments of a felt cloak and two crock, one of which was laid in the feet and the other at the head of a warrior.
the Burial was not quite typical of Sarmatian culture, explained in a press-service of the company. Feet of the warrior was bandaged in two places: the knees and around the feet. For what it was made and that is a symbol, scientists have yet to figure out. It is possible that the answers will give further excavation of this mound, which will last until the end of June. In this place, scientists have to study two more catacomb burial depth of 6 meters. They have not been looted and is well preserved, archaeologists hope to find there artifacts intact. The total area of excavations at the site of the Far Western bypass of Krasnodar is 60 thousand square meters.
