Former President of Georgia and the Governor of Odessa region, Deputy Prime Minister of the Ukrainian government, Saakashvili stated that "Balkanization" of the country is a threat. In his opinion, it will be beneficial to Russia.
This Sakaashvili said during a conference organized by the American non-profit organization "Atlantic Council". In his speech, the politician said that the danger lies in the fact that "some regions could fall under Russian influence".
"This scenario is Balkanization, and we will do everything possible to ensure that it was not implemented" — quotes its words TV channel "360".
The former Governor of Odessa region believes that "Russia will benefit from the lack of reform in Ukraine".
"We see evidence of this in open sources of information, and some intelligence" — said the politician.
In early may it became known that Saakashvili received a new position of head of the Executive Committee of the Ukrainian National Council of reforms.
