Writer, screenwriter, member of the French Academy Jean-Loup Dabadi died at the age of 81 years. On the death, AFP reported with reference to the agent of the deceased, Bertrand de Labi.
Dabadi died at the hospital Pitié-Salpêtrière from illness not related to the Covid-19, said the agent.
“He was a real artist who excelled in all the arts,” said Bertrand de Labi.
The academician was born in 1938 in Paris. He was a novelist, journalist, author sketches, a translator, writer and author of theatrical productions.
Dabadi wrote many novels. The first one is “Dry eye” – was published in 1957. Dabade has collaborated with several publications, wrote film reviews and articles about art. In addition, he wrote the lyrics for French singers. The list of artists, often featuring his songs, is impressive: Mireille Mathieu, Michel Sardou, Yves Montand, johnny Hallyday.
Dabadi also wrote more than four dozen scripts for films by famous French Directors. He recently wrote the screenplay for the film based on the novel by Georges Simenon “Green shutters”. The main role in this film should play Gerard Depardieu.
In 2008 Dabady was elected a member of the French Academy.
