The acting heads of the Arkhangelsk region and Nenets Autonomous district last week signed a Memorandum on the beginning of the process of Association of regions. Ahead – collection of proposals of residents, meetings of the working groups, appeal to the President, the referendum in which the decision would be taken by residents.
"Movement, in my opinion, is correct. There are still a number of regions, which in the case of enterprises has received serious new opportunities for more effective development. I have to think, discuss," – said Matvienko in the TV channel "Russia 24".
According to her, the idea of merging the Arkhangelsk region and NAO was given enough arguments.
"I think it’s a natural process, he has matured. But to solve will be the citizens", – said the speaker.
