Scientists at Harvard medical school have successfully tested prototypes of vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 monkeys-a rhesus monkey that had developed immunity to the virus. The researchers also confirmed that primates who recover from COVID-19, protected from re-infection with coronavirus. Article with test results published in the journal Science.

In Italy created the world’s first kill coronavirus vaccine

In the first study, the team showed that six potential DNA vaccines induced a reaction from neutralizing antibodies and were protected from SARS-CoV-2 in macaques, the rhesus monkey. DNA vaccine is a genetic construct, which in this case contributed to the synthesis of S-protein. S-protein or protein-“spike” is on the surface of the virus and is responsible for binding to the receptor of the host cell and penetration of virus into the cell.

Scientists have immunisable 25 monkeys, and animals that served as control group received the vaccine pacifier. Three weeks later, macaques were subjected to a full virus. The animals received a complete vaccine, the viral load was reduced, and the eight SARS-CoV-2 was not identified.

In the second study proved that nine cured COVID-19 monkeys developed natural protective immunity. Antibodies provided complete resistance to re-infection.
