Among other things, he proposed to retain the existing Israeli settlements in the West Bank, which caused outrage in Palestine. The country’s leader, Mahmoud Abbas, stated that it had decided to terminate all agreements with Israel and the United States.
“This is a very dangerous escalation of tension in relations between Israel and the Palestinians, and the middle East in General. It is the result of a very clumsy actions of Washington, who systematically dismantled all the international legal framework of the Palestinian-Israeli settlement,” – said Morozov.
He recalled that in this conflict there can be solutions that take into account the interests of only one side. The Senator stressed that “the exit must be sought in the presence of international guarantees to both parties of the conflict.”
