U.S. Secretary of state Mike Pompeo assessed the relations with Russia and the fight against COVID-19 in the period of the coronavirus pandemic.

During an interview with Washington Examiner Pompeo asked the question: “How do you assess U.S. relations with Russia and Moscow’s actions during a virus pandemic?”.

“Well, they actually fought. Moscow, in particular, continues to struggle with the virus. When President trump spoke with President Putin, he decided to give the Russians a significant help. Some equipment for the tests, as well as ventilators. This equipment is on the way. We are happy to try to help them to deal with this virus,” said Pompeo.

He noted that “worked with Russians since the time when I was CIA Director,” and acknowledged that the two countries can find points of interaction and work together.

“I worked closely with them to prevent plans of terrorists. They helped us, saved American lives, by providing us with information. We helped them avoid a high attack, which was to be held in St. Petersburg,” said Pompeo.

After that, apparently, not to pass a Russophile, Pompeo moved to criticism of Russia, reproaching her the lack of democracy, and accusing the Syrian conflict and armed confrontation between the DPR and LPR and Kiev.

“When we interact with the Russians on these issues, we clearly say to them our expectations,” said the Secretary of state.

As previously reported, “the Rambler”, Pompeo began to wear a mask in the colors of the American flag.
