the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has signed the decree about introduction of sanctions against some Russian universities, scientific organizations and museums. The list, in particular, were Moscow state University, Russian geographical society, Tula state pedagogical University. L. N. Tolstoy, the Hermitage, the Museum of fine arts named after A. S. Pushkin, the Institute of Oriental studies, the black sea undersea research centre, Crimean Federal University named after V. I. Vernadsky. the Sanctions involve the freezing of assets of these organizations, the suspension of the execution of economic and financial obligations, the cancellation or suspension of licences and other permits to work in Ukraine, as well as the termination of cultural exchanges, scientific cooperation, educational and other contacts.
the Duration of the sanctions — three years.
Earlier Zelensky renewed a three-year ban on access to the Russian sites and social networks. Limitations of “Classmates”, “Vkontakte”, “Yandex” and Mail.ru the Ukrainian government imposed in may 2017.
