Wishing to terminate an employment contract today, may 15, the plant’s management proposes to pay six salaries. Over the next week will be released subject to the payment of five salaries.
“a lot of the workers have agreed to go for six salaries. In one of the units the number of employees filing the application for termination of labor contracts for six of the salaries longer than planned to reduce staff. In this regard, today in the end of the day will be a Commission that will determine who can approve the dismissal and who is not”, — stated in the message of the Union. Downsizing the company started the due falling demand for cars in connection with the pandemic coronavirus. The number of employees that will be reduced, not reported.
Recall that the work of the factories of Volkswagen in Kaluga and in Nizhny Novgorod were suspended in late March due shortages of components supplied from Europe. Plant operations were restored at the end of April.
At the plant in Kaluga produced the model Volkswagen Tiguan, Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Yeti in Nizhny Novgorod — Skoda Octavia and Skoda Kodiaq. In 2019, the plant in Kaluga was issued 150 thousand, in Nizhny Novgorod — 64 thousand cars.
Previously, due supply problems caused by the pandemic virus COVID-19, in Europe and the United States suspended operation of dozens of plants of the major automakers. The suspension of its production in Europe, the Volkswagen Group announced on March 17.
