China has supported Russia in connection with allegations of the latter in the underreporting of mortality from COVID-19. As stated by the official representative of the foreign Ministry of China, Zhao Lijiang, publications of the Western media intended to cause a scandal around Russia.

According to him, China is not doubt that the Russian people will cope with the epidemic of the coronavirus “under the strong leadership of President Vladimir Putin.” He also advised the world community to unite against the pandemic instead of “to blame others”.
Earlier official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova accused the West in the deployment of the anti – “campaign of disinformation”. According to her, the campaign clearly stated NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who said that Russia and China strenuously misinformation during a pandemic, seeking to change the world order.
Zakharov also responded negatively to the Bloomberg article titled “Experts want to know why COVID-19 killed more Russians”, noting the incorrectness of the header.
