The Director General of space-Rocket Corporation “Energy” Nikolay Sevastyanov on Friday will leave his post, his place will be taken by the adviser to the head of Roscosmos Igor Ozar, said a source in the rocket and space industry.
“Nikolai Sevastyanov, today is the last working day. Monday, interim CEO of the company will be Igor Ozar”, – said the source RIA “Novosti”, without specifying the reasons for the reshuffle.
Adviser Dmitry Rogozin Ozar began in March. Prior to this he was head of the aviation holding company “Sukhoi” (from 2011 to the beginning of 2020).
Sevastyanov leaves the post of the General Director of the enterprise for the second time: he was in this position from 2005-2007 and was re-appointed in January 2019.
In 2007, the activities of Sevastyanov at the head of the “Energy” in the Russian space Agency treated ambiguously. He was criticised for projects of industrial development of the moon and the extraction of fuel there “helium-3” for nuclear reactors.
The second assignment Sevastyanov also has not done without scandals.
In early August, 2018, the acting General Director of RSC Energia was appointed Sergey Romanov, who joined the company in 1980, he passed the way from engineer to CEO. In September, he was elected General Director at the General meeting of shareholders of the company, but in the end were never appointed by the Supervisory Board of the Russian space Agency. The Board of Directors of the company suspended its office on 24 January 2019. Since then, the enterprise was headed by Nikolai Sevastyanov. The Romanov was downgraded to first Deputy General Director of the Corporation and offered to take a lower position until the cleaner.
