Border for work trips in the Schengen area and the school closed at the end of March due to pandemic coronavirus, re-opened in Finland on may 14. As announced on Wednesday evening, the interior Ministry, the opening of borders in the Schengen area will start gradually from 00:00 local time (coincides with Moscow).
"since may 14 allowed cross-border travel to work and other trips in urgent circumstances. Persons arriving from abroad to work in Finland needs to be able to prove to border control that grounds for entry. These restrictions, and travel restrictions across the external borders of the [Schengen area] (including in Russia – approx. TASS) will remain in force until June 14," – said the press service of the Ministry.
In addition to business trips, now allowed trips to various urgent matters, in particular to visit family. The interior Ministry added that tourist travel is not yet recommended.
All who will travel to Finland, you will receive written instructions with recommendations and rules of conduct in the context of a pandemic, compiled by the Finnish National Institute for health and social development. The interior Ministry stressed that when entering the country are advised to isolate themselves for 14 days, avoiding in this period of personal contact with other people and leaving the house only when necessary, for example for trips to work or shopping.
Thus while international flights will continue to arrive only in three Finnish cities – Helsinki, Turku and Mariehamn. Also open sale of tickets on passenger ferries.

Kindergartens and preschool institutions in Finland from Thursday will resume as usual. Kindergartens worked and took the children for the entire period of limitation – since the end of March, however, parents are recommended to leave the kids at home and a recommendation performed.
