Germany reserves the right to introduce new sanctions against Russia over cyber attacks on the Bundestag in 2015. As reported by Handelsblatt, said the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, answering questions of members of the German Parliament.
Merkel said that Germany has compelling evidence of Russia’s involvement in hacking attacks on the computers of the Bundestag in 2015.
To the question about possible consequences for Russia, Merkel said:
“of Course, we always reserve the right to take action, including against Russia.”
The Chancellor stated that it sought good relations with Russia, but Moscow’s actions constitute “trusting cooperation” between the two countries.
Earlier, the “Rambler” reported that Federal prosecutors in Germany issued an international warrant for the arrest of Russian Dmitry Badin on suspicion of involvement in the hacker attack on the Bundestag in 2015. According to prosecutors, the hackers stole 16 GB of data with the computers of German parliamentarians, including thousands of emails of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
