In preparation for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory we launched the project “Moscow — caring for history.” We were motivated by the desire to introduce into scientific circulation and make available to the public materials about the great Patriotic war from the family archives of Muscovites,” — says the Deputy head of the Department for the storage of documents after 1917 Glavarhiva of the city of Moscow Mikhail morukov.

All information is sorted in chronological order, from January 1941 to December 1945. In addition, there are thematic blocks: “the Military and political events”, “Moscow news”, “Culture, education, religion, Economics, science, medicine”. In the units the authors of the project placed notes Metropolitan Newspapers. From them visitors can learn that, for example, on 17 February 1941 in Moscow took place the championship of the USSR in speed skating, and in April, the city undertook a decade of Tajik art. Many of the documents and newspaper articles in these sections are published for the first time.

Users will be able to see panoramas of streets of the city during the war, photographs of buildings and interiors. Under the assumptions of the historian, in the creation of the album involved taking the artists of the Studio of political Department of the Navy, including Yakov Romas — designer of the metro station “Krasnoselskaya”.
