88 year of life has died the musician Richard Penniman, better known as little Richard, reports Rolling Stone magazine. He is considered one of the founders of rock-n-roll.
On demise of renowned artist told reporters his son Danny Penniman. However, while the cause of death of the “father of rock” are not known even to his relatives.
“little Richard, one of the founding fathers of rock, worn-out template of the genre, which will follow more than one generation of musicians, has died. He was 87 years”, – stated in the message published in Twitter-account of the journal.
Richard Penniman called himself “the king of rock-n-roll” and “Queen of screams”. He is the author of songs, classics of the genre, such as “Tutti Frutti”, “Long Tall Sally”, “Rip It Up” / “Ready Teddy”, “She’s Got It,” “The Girl Can’t Help It”, “Lucille”, “Jenny, Jenny”, “Keep A-Knockin'” and others. Songs little Richard was played by Elvis Presley, buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, gene Vincent. In 1986 the composer was one of the first was awarded membership in the “Hall of fame rock-n-roll”.
In September of last year, according to “Rambler” on 79-th year of life died the poet and singer, member of “Hall of fame rock-n-roll,” Robert hunter. According to relatives, he died “peacefully in his bed surrounded by loved ones.” Hunter is known as a member of the musical group the Grateful Dead. The poet wrote the lyrics to such hits as “Alligator”, “Dark Star”, “St. Stephen” and “China Cat Sunflower”.
