Every Thursday there will be “activated” a new virtual exhibition. This will allow you to see the main events of the great Patriotic war in chronological order through the lens of reporters.

These images can be found on a separate page of the project. The Museum invites viewers to help determine the names of the photographers and would appreciate any information on them.

the First exhibition allows you to hear the voices of the Muscovites, witnesses and participants of war in their letters, diaries and memoirs. More than 50 letters selected from the collection of the Museum of Moscow and Fund of the Main archival city Department of Moscow, they are digitized and decoded. The correspondence of each author with his family or friends has turned into a Chapter of tragic narratives about the war. A total of 29 chapters. Brother and sister Boris and Olga Ignatovich is known more as a master of “left”, avant-garde photography of the 1920’s and early 1930-ies. During the war each of them passed the roads of war “with a watering can and a Notepad.” If Boris Gromov during the war, filmed life of guerrilla groups in the occupied territories, Olga Vsevolodovna was a photojournalist of the newspaper of the 30th army (later 10th guards) of the Kalinin front and the front newspaper of the 1st Ukrainian front. It was shot during the fighting for the liberation of Ukraine, Poland, Czechoslovakia and Austria. Among the first movie – and news photographers were shooting at the red Army liberated the concentration camps of Majdanek and Auschwitz.
