At least two people have died in an explosion and major fire at a chemical plant in northeast China. Twelve others were initially missing, as the Chinese television station Phoenix TV reported on its website on Monday. 34 people were injured, four of them seriously.
The accident happened on Sunday at a chemical plant in Panshan near the city of Panjin in Liaoning province. The fire burned for hours before it was brought under control, state media reported. Hundreds of firefighters were deployed. The search for the missing continues.
